Raised on a diverse mix of musical styles, this Northern Ontario native has evolved into an independent artist of impressive versatility. Yet, her passion truly lies at the intersection of Country and Pop—where she blends the heartfelt storytelling of Country, with the relatable and universal appeal of Pop.

Makinna’s musical journey began at 15 when she bravely performed in front of her entire student body—just a week after picking up a guitar for the first time. That boldness paved the way for her to earn a diploma in songwriting, audio engineering, music production, and performance, equipping her with the tools to carve her own path in the music industry.

In 2024, Makinna was selected as a showcase artist in the prestigious Folk Music Ontario Developing Artist Program. Country’s Local calls her "a force to be reckoned with," and with each new release, she proves that she's here to stay, leaving her unique imprint on the music industry.
